Justine Skahan is a painter, born in Montreal, QC. She obtained her BFA in Studio Arts with distinction from Concordia University in 2010 and recently completed her MFA at the University of Ottawa. She took part in residencies at the Banff Centre in Banff, AB, at the Wild Bush Residency in Val-David, QC, as well as at the de Gaspé Nanoresidency in Montreal to name a few. Skahan’s work stems from her interest in concepts such as subjectivity, paranormal activities and duplicates. She often chooses themes that make her feel uneasy; a process that engages the artist in an ever-shifting relationship with the image and subject.
